Obituary of Robert John Page

October 30, 1930 - Bentley, Alberta

January 29, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” John Page. Bob passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the age of 91 years.

Born in Bentley, AB, Bob’s family moved to Calgary shortly after, where he grew up, attended school, and met his wife, Betty Page (nee Eagle). Bob and Betty were married on April 18, 1953. The early years of Bob’s career in oil and gas had him on the move! Bob and Betty lived and worked across much of Canada before settling back in Calgary to start their family. Bob would go on to experience moves and temporary assignments in New Orleans, London, and Houston. Bob retired from Chevron in 1992 but remained as active as ever. Bob and Betty were long time members of the Calgary Winter Club, where they spent a great deal of their time curling and playing tennis. Bob enjoyed playing and watching most sports and was very proud to have been a volunteer for Calgary’s ’88 Olympics. Bob and Betty loved to travel, their highlights being trips to Japan, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. In the later years, they escaped the cold winters to spend time in Palm Desert and Phoenix. Bob once travelled with his dad to Ireland, where Bob was introduced to his roots and relatives. Bob’s legacy now continues through his own family, who will dearly miss the love and laughter they all shared.

Bob will be deeply missed and remembered by his wife of almost 69 years, Betty; his son Brian (Patti), daughter Bev (Jim); six grandchildren, Tanis (Clint), Taso, David (Latesha), Kristal (Lyn), Racheal, and Lindsey (Cam); as well as his six very special great-grandchildren, Michael, Derek, Kayla, Graedon, Lochlan, and Amara.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
