Obituary of Giuseppina Pacione

Giuseppina (Pina) Pacione, beloved wife of Domenico Pacione, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the age of 73 years.

Pina was born in Ofena, Italy, on February 8, 1948. In 1967, she married Domenico and together they immigrated to Calgary, AB, Canada. Pina was a talented seamstress, gardener, cook and baker.  She loved to travel and go on new adventures, but her greatest joy was being a generous, loving mom and friend to MaryLou and Rita.

Pina is survived by her two daughters and two sons-in-law, MaryLou and Robin, and Rita and Tom, all of Calgary. Pina is also survived by her five sisters-in-law, Angela Pacione, Nella Pacione, Maria Elena Pacione, all of Calgary, Iole Lancione of Ofena, Italy, and Maria Bonit of Fameck, France; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all around the world.

Pina was predeceased by her husband Domenico Pacione, parents, Elio and Maria Genitti; parents-in-law, Giuseppe and Carmela Pacione; sister-in-law Ida Giustini, six brothers-in-law, Rodolfo Pacione, Nino Pacione, Tony Pacione, Antonio Giustini, Edoardo Lancione, and Rene Bonit; and two nephews, Carmelino, and Sergio Giustini.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with a limited capacity of 50 people.  Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery Mausoleum.  Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs Pacione’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
