Condolences
Dave, Randy, Jackie and Jim,
Strangely enough I came across your mom's obit due to a Roxy Music song.
I am so sorry for the loss of both your mom and your dad. Now that Norma and Murray have moved on to the next leg of their Souls' journey, you have all been endowed with the memories of their extensive life experiences and parental guidance. I Often remenise about the times I spent during the early 80's throughout high school, graduation and beyond at the Pyke residence, growing from a teenager to my early twenties. I remember many interesting conversations and debates during meals, fun times crusing in Jake's VW beatle or Norma's Camaro to name a few, to fabulous times in Banff and Canmore during the downhill skiing days. Your mom was always so kind and made sure no one went out the door hungry, and was there if I needed to talk. Murray always had integrity and was a fatherly role model, free to offer advice or guidance for whatever life path forward one might aspire to attain; which I really never had a clue about at the time, but took in the guidance and direction for future reference. I am greatful for the times spent with your family and Stoney during those integral years, and being treated like one of the family. Life's path can be a rough road to navigate, but all the fond memories give one's life pieces of a puzzle, that make up the sum of the total in the end.
Thanks for the memories and may you and your families find comfort and solice as memories pop up throughout your own personal journeys.
Sincerely,
Vaughn Hauser
Condolences to family of Murray and Norma Pyke, on the passing of Norma. I was a fellow student of the Pyke brothers at the University of Saskatchewan and accordingly came to know Norma. WE fondly remember in 1962, driving our Volkswagen beetle from Edmonton to join Norma and Murray for a few days of "sun and sand" and Trout Festival at Denare beach, near Flin Flon Manitoba.
Although we became separated over these many years, we recall Norma's warm and friendly character; rest in peace.
