Obituary of Connor Marshall Giles

June 2, 1997 - Calgary, Alberta

February 1, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Connor Giles, beloved son of Shelley Giles (Don Herscheid), and Ward Giles, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the age of 24 years.

Connor was born in Calgary, AB, on June 2, 1997, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. He graduated in 2015, from Beiseker Community School.

Connor will forever be remembered for his love of music, and his impressive guitar playing abilities and skill. He had beautiful blond hair, blue eyes, and broad shoulders and liked to dress well when he had the chance; he loved his ties and vests. Connor was a hard worker, a gentleman, he was kind, and had a great sense of humour.  He always had a lot to say, as he had so many different interests and talents.  He was so very smart and talked a lot about going back to post-secondary school.  After graduation Connor worked at a few different construction and service occupations including concrete placement, tower rigging, roofing and framing.  He especially enjoyed his job in shipping and receiving at Fountain Tire in Winnipeg, MB, and he was in the process of entering into the Sprinkler-fitter trade.

Connor is survived by his mother and stepfather, Shelley Giles and Don Herscheid, and father Ward Giles; siblings Dawson Giles of Beiseker, AB; Karissa Giles of Ottawa, ON; Tyler Rasmussen (Cori) of Winnipeg, MB; Maya Giles of Winnipeg, MB and Macal Giles of Winnipeg, MB; two nephews Harlan and Rowan, and grandmothers Shirley Larence and Islay Giles; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Connor was predeceased by his grandfather’s Ken Larence, and Scotty (Andrew) Giles, and Uncle Stuart Giles.

In loving memory of our very special son, Connor

It’s sometimes hard to know why some things happen as they do

For so much joy and happiness was centered around you

It seems so hard to comprehend that you’re no longer here

But all the happy memories will help to keep you near

You are thought about with Pride, Son

With each mention of your name

Death cannot change a single thing

The love will still remain.

A Celebration of Connor’s Life will be held at Beiseker Community Hall (410 5 St, Beiseker, AB, T0M 0G0) on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
