Obituary of Conrad James George Skrzypinski

Our beloved Conrad, a bright, gentle soul and cherished friend, brother and son died tragically due to overdose on Saturday, January 29, 2022.          

Conrad was a deeply caring person; sensitive, attuned and empathetic towards others.  He had a special gift of seeing the good in people and reflecting it back to them. Conrad was genuine, kind and charming, and had a way of making people feel welcome and at ease.  Incredibly funny, he brought laughter and joy even into the dark places.  His laugh was uninhibited and infectious, as was his smile.  He loved to goof around and delighted in playful banter and striking ridiculous poses for the camera.  

Conrad loved golf and for many years was an avid snowboarder.  Recently, he took up rock climbing, biking, hiking and camping.  Conrad liked beautiful things and had a keen appreciation for design, art and fashion.  Conrad was passionate about music and his taste was eclectic and diverse.  His favourite artist was Aphex Twin and he travelled across North America and Europe to watch him play live.  He loved music festivals, live shows and time at home relaxing and listening to tunes.

Conrad was smart, insightful and self-aware.  Wise beyond his years, he had a beautiful way of expressing himself with honesty and sincerity.  Profoundly loyal, Conrad loved his people and valued time spent with family and friends.  Everyone who met Conrad loved him.  He will be deeply missed.  

Conrad is survived by his father Tom Skrzypinski, his stepfather Ron Eckhardt, his sister Julia Skrzypinski, his extended family, many friends, and his little brother Jake Copeland through Big Brothers of Canada.  We will forever hold him in our hearts.  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
