Pierson Thomas Scalplock – Makoyohsoyis (Wolf Tail); Our baby, left us to be with our Creator and join his ancestors in the spirit world on February 5, 2022.

Pierson was born in the afternoon at South Health Hospital, weighing in at 9.6 pounds. Pierce loved spending time with his sisters and brothers, and he was very protective over his family. Pierce started school at Siksika Head Start and enjoyed speaking Blackfoot with his teacher. He also attended Chief Old Sun, Chief Crowfoot, and Hillhurst schools. Pierce was outgoing with the way he asked questions at school, he was always excited. Pierson had a very loving and kind nature to him and was always so happy and cheerful. He considered himself a little warrior and was very proud to be from Siksika. He had a lot of determination, and it didn't matter what obstacle came his way, he always faced it head on and did his very best. He was brave, honest, and very clever.

He enjoyed learning new things and being with family for any occasion; he loved family gatherings and especially his auntie Bryce's house. Pierce enjoyed playing outdoors at the playground, watching and playing Sonic which became one of his favorite characters. He also played endless hours of Roblox, Minecraft and Fortnite. Pierson came from a huge family, where he was loved by everyone. He was mommy’s little guy.

Pierson is pre-deceased by his baby brother, Zaine Running Rabbit, maternal great-grandmother, Carlen Raphael, maternal great-grandfather, Dennis Stonechild, maternal uncle, Ashley Wolfleg, maternal great-uncle, Paddy Melting Tallow, and maternal cousin, Peta Wakanwin One-Spot. Pierson is also pre-deceased by his paternal great-grandparents, Floyd and Mavis Running Rabbit; paternal cousin, Darren Running Rabbit, and paternal uncle, Lane Running Rabbit.

Our apologies if we missed anyone; Pierson was well loved and had many relatives. We would also like to thank Siksika EMS and Fire, Siksika Family Services, and all who have donated to the Vigil and funeral.

Wake services will be held at Gordon Yellowfly Memorial Arbour on Sunday, February 13, 2022, starting at 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for immediate family, and 6:00 pm for the public. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Siksika Nation, Cluny, AB, on February 14, 2022, at 1:00pm, with Burial Service at Crowfoot Cemetery; a Feast is to follow.
