Obituary of Harvey Lloyd Massie

Harvey Massie, beloved partner of Shirley Winnifred Ritchie, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

Harvey was born in Wainwright, Alberta on December 28. He worked at the Calgary school board for 30 years. Harvey enjoyed curling, bowling, and dancing. His most memorable vacation was when he went to Hawaii.

Besides his loving partner of 33 years Shirley, Harvey is survived by his one daughter Elaine (John) of BC, two grandchildren, Tiffany (Derek) and Leslie (Andrea) of BC; five stepchildren Bob, Kerry (Carole), Terry (Bev), Lorri, and Lyle (Ronda) of AB; twelve grandchildren, of BC and AB; fifteen great-grandchildren, of BC and AB; and three great-great grand children of BC and Hawaii. Harvey is also survived by his one brother, Gordon, of Edgerton, AB. Harvey was predeceased by his parents and six siblings.

A Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Massie’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may also be shared and viewed here.
