Condolences
Before the age of 10, for several years I spent pretty much every weekend and every summer with my Uncle Merv and Auntie Lil. I have many, many great memories of those years. On Sunday mornings, my Auntie Lil would make pancakes and my Uncle Merv and I would have a contest to see who could eat the most. I don't recall who consistently ate more than the other but I do recall the winner would always have devoured somewhere in the mid to high teens. Fortunately, I played a lot of sports so burned off the calories on the diamond, park or rink, while Uncle Merv did his thing in the garage (he was the original Mr. Fix It). During those years, I only recall one time when he got upset with me. He was patient beyond patient as I bounced a ball of the side of the house a few million times (bottom cement portion only); played hockey with a tennis ball in the basement for hour after hour etc. He was kind, tolerant, supportive and fun (as was my Auntie Lil). I will always be grateful for the love they shared with me and the pride they had in me. Rest in peace, Uncle Merv. And, THANK YOU!. Randy Voldeng
We were sorry to hear about Mervs passing. He was a kind funny gentle soul, who will be missed. Our parents had many good times with your parents. His passing is an end to that era! They knew how to have a good time. May your fond memories support your sad time!
Thinking of you all
