Obituary of Frank Vrechar

Frank Vrechar of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the age of 80 years.

Frank was born in Lasko, Slovenia on November 22, 1941. He grew up in Celje, Slovenia where he learned to become a Baker. In 1967, Frank immigrated to Canada from Slovenia, and came to Calgary, AB where he worked as a Baker for many years.

In Slovenia, Frank was married to Karolina, later divorced, they had one daughter Cvetka (Gajšek)Vrečar. Frank is also survived by his two grandchildren, Nina and Grega; his sister Ana Strnad, brother-in-law Rado Strnad. He was predeceased by his parents, Marta and Franz Vrečar, and brother Ferdinand Vrečar.

For many years Frank was a member of the Slovenian Canadian Club in Calgary, AB. His most loved passion was playing his accordion and singing for the Slovenian Club and other functions, which will be sadly missed by all members and friends.
