Mary Anderson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Agape Hospice at the age of 95 years.

 

Mary is survived by her son, Robert Anderson, of Calgary and sister-in-law, Grace Anderson, of Hamiota, MB. She is also survived by nieces Shirley Reid (Calgary), Eileen Youngberg (Blairmore, AB), Karen Dunbar (Souris, MB), and Wanda Cameron (Boissevain, MB); nephews Ian Anderson (Hamiota), Scott Anderson (Brandon, MB); and all their families.

 

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Rod; brothers Bill Logan (Calgary) and Arch Logan (Calgary); and niece Gayle Woeste (North Vancouver, BC).

 

Mary was born in the Hillhurst area of Calgary and attended Hillhurst and Western Canada schools. She worked for 16 years at the Alberta Wheat Pool where she met her future husband, Rod. They were married October 8, 1960. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. Mary was an amazing homemaker. She was well-known for her homemade baking, and jams and vegetables made from produce from her own garden. She belonged to St. David’s United Church, Banff Trail Community Association, and the Boy Scouts Ladies Auxiliary. She participated in activities, and volunteer work, at these organizations. Her favorite hobbies included bowling, gardening, cards, and puzzles. Most of all, however, she enjoyed getting together with family and friends to share meals and camaraderie. Mary lived at The Manor Village at Huntington Hills since 2007.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
