Condolences
I was sorry to read of Joanne's passing in the Advocate. I had the pleasure of working with her at Red Deer College Library in the early 2000's, when she came back to work part-time at the reference desk just because she loved to help students. She had a great sense of humour and "said it like it was." She made an impact on so many lives, and will be missed.
So sorry to hear about Joanne's passing. We were great friends at Peaks condo in Radium for many years. She used to stay at our condo with her close friend Joan. She liked it so much in Radium she bought a condo close to us. She was so friendly and easy to get along with. We miss her very much. Jim and Helen Parker
I was so very sorry to read Joanne's obituary in today's Red Deer Advocate. Our work in libraries had us sit on a few boards and committees together and we reconnected at Red Deer College in early 2001. We enjoyed many dinners together until she moved to B.C. I so appreciated Joanne's professionalism and her sincere longing to make the community a better place. I extend my sincere sympathy to her family and friends.
I feel so lucky to have had Joanne as a leader and mentor in my life. I have never had another leader as inspirational as Joanne. She was a woman of integrity and kindness, and challenged me to think outside traditional boxes. She was patient and frank. She was quick with a quiet laugh which I appreciated. I will be forever grateful to Joanne for her mentorship and friendship. My sincere condolences to her family
I was fortunate to know Joanne for close to 30 years. For several years I reported to Joanne at Red Deer College. We discovered a mutual love of golf, watching curling and travel. We enjoyed many trips including New York City, the Maritimes, Mexico and a wonderful cruise to Alaska. There were many laughs and good times over the years. Joanne you will be missed. Rest well my Friend.
Sad to learn of Joanne’s passing. She was a wonderful colleague at Red Deer College. She was truly “all about the students” in the roles she filled at RDC. It was a privilege to work with her and to see her caring and professional approach to learning every day. Rest well Joanne.
