Obituary of Richard (Rick) Stanley Siluch

It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Siluch of Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the age of 64 years.

Rick spent his early years in Grande Prairie and Fort St. John before moving to Red Deer, AB and then settling in Calgary, AB in 1998. Rick graduated from the Grande Prairie Regional College in 1978 with a two-year Business Diploma. He then went on to apply his salesmanship skills to selling automobiles, then beer, then wine and spirits and ultimately found his dream job with Newell Brands Canada. Rick worked for many years for Newell Brands Canada as a key account representative covering the entire country and was so proud to receive the 2020 President’s Circle Inductee Award with Newell Brands for his outstanding sales achievement.

Rick was a force to be reckoned with, a gentle giant with a heart of gold and the gift of the gab. He made everyone feel important and became friends with so many people. He was an avid motorcyclist for many years and travelled all over North America. He loved staying fit, playing cards, a good dare and playing pranks on friends. He loved playing golf (badly), but it was always about the friendship and laughs than the game.

Rick is survived by his mother Anne Siluch of Fort St. John, BC; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Rick was predeceased by his father Stanley Siluch, and younger brother Kevin Siluch.

We are pleased to announce and invite family and friends to gather on Saturday, March 19, 2022 (March 19 is Ricks birthday) at Spolumbo’s Italian Deli (Ricks favourite hangout), 1308, 9 Ave S.E.
