Obituary of Ron Boyd

July 26, 1935 - Portage La Prairie, Manitoba

February 16, 2022 - Red Deer, Alberta

Ronald Boyd, of Sylvan Lake, AB, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2022, at the age of 86 years. Loving husband to Lil, and proud father to Scott (Barb), Deanne (John), and Denise (Barry), and doting grandpa to Dylan, Mark, Maggie, Jack, Thomas, and Joey. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Family was everything to Ron, but he also loved gardening, birding, dogs, golf, fishing, and traveling with Lil by his side. Known as a people person, he was down to earth, humorous, and friendly, while being quick to make others welcome. That said, he was a master wordsmith writing to "right the world" among those he felt responsible within circles of royalty, politics, business, and newspaper publishing.

Due to the current restrictions, the service will be postponed to a later date. A celebration full of revelry, stories, and informality will be announced in due course. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here. 

While he had his favourites charities, including the Canadian Legion, Crohn's and Colitis Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Amnesty International, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to a charity of your choice.
