Action Jackson,
There is not a time I can remember that Jack was not part of my life growing up. The countless memories that will forever live in my heart; Willie's Dimwit, being the late night taxi from the Hi-Ho, the celebrations for no given reason (and no reason required) at the Bearspaw golf club, listening to the many stories of a life lived full, a wonderful laugh that lifted the hearts of all around him, his infectous personality and always having advice for a growing boy and young man even if it meant I got into a bit of trouble.
Jack is and will always be an insperation and a role model for his successful career, as a father and husband to his family, loyalty to his friends and undisputed champion best friend to my father, Dave Harcus. His devotion to their friendship even after dad had passed away was inspiring and I always looked for his peoms posted in the papers every year after dad passed away. I will always cherish his continued friendship to my mom over the years and unconditional support after dad passed. Jack will be missed by all that knew him but be assured that dad has met him at the pearly gates. Lord help us all, heaven will never be the same!!!!
With deapest condolences to his family, we here on earth have lost an increadible friend and a great man.
Sincerely,
Trevor Harcus
Jack was a good man to work for. He cared for & treated everyone in a special way. I lost $5 to him on the OJ verdict, lol!
Dear family of Jack Richards,
We had the pleasure of getting to know Jack when he joined the White Hat Volunteer program at the airport in April of 2014. We always enjoyed chatting with him on Fridays when he attended his shift. He was a wonderful ambassador for Calgary and treated his shift mates and every visitor he met with care and utmost respect. He had a great sense of humour and a ton of humility. Our lives were made better by being lucky enough to cross paths with Jack Richards.
Sincerely, Debbie and Brian Stahl
Our sincere condolences to Pat and family: Wendy, Jackie, Stephen, Gabrielle, and their spouses. We think of you often and all the fun times we had together. The years Rick worked for Jack at Westburne, Busters and then at City Wide. The skidoo trips to the mountains and to your cabin in Caroline, our camping trips with the horses, all the wonderful summers Wendy spent with us and our trip to Florida for the Tow Truck Show ... we could almost write a book with the years of wonderful memories!
Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend Jack's Celebration of Life on Friday, the family are in our thoughts as you grieve this loss.
Rest in Peace Jack, you have been a wonderful friend.
Wow what a surprise. My family and Jack’s go back a long long time. I used to work for Jack Richards at Westburne electric and I know his daughter Wendy very well too we grew up together. It’s truly amazing how fast time flies I haven’t seen the family in many years.
However, when I came across this obituary it really took me by surprise!! It brought back so many memories of Jack and Pat and their family getting together with mine oh so many years ago!
Several great memories but two of which come to mind. Taking our Skidoos out in the mountains. I distinctly remember one time a crash that was so epic we as a family will always remember how two skidoos can fly through the sky with such finesse and two kids can land on the ground right underneath it and still not get hurt.
The countless number of hours that we rode our horses it honestly didn’t matter where because ever time it was like a new adventure. I don’t think we ever had a moment where we didn’t have a wreck with that either.
The one thing I do remember the most is whenever I got together with his family we always had an amazing time together. Generally filled with so much laughter and countless hours of storytelling.
My sincerest condolences to the family and to Mrs. Richards. Jack may you rest in peace my heart goes out to all of you
Sincerely
Roberta Shaw (Lauzon)
