Obituary of Pat Orr

January 25, 1940 – Montreal, Quebec 
February 18, 2022 – Bragg Creek, Alberta

We are sad to announce the passing of Patricia Mary-Ellen Orr (nee Blundell) of Bragg Creek, Alberta on February 18, 2022. Pat passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

Pat was brought into this world on January 25, 1940, to George and Marie Blundell in Montreal, Quebec. She attended Sacred Heart Convent for high school, graduating in 1956. After high school, Pat started a degree in physiotherapy at McGill but switched to nursing school in 1958 and secured her nursing diploma. She returned to McGill in 1964 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. 

In 1960, she met the love of her life, David Orr, and they were married on August 24, 1968. In 1976, she and David moved to Calgary, Alberta and spent many holidays travelling and falling in love with the Rocky Mountains. In 1994, they permanently located to the hamlet of Bragg Creek at the foot of the Rockies. 

Pat loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, hiker, and swimmer. She was a loving and dedicated mother and wife who always put her family first. As a devout Catholic she spent over twenty years as a pastoral volunteer at the Foothills Hospital.

Pat was predeceased by sisters, Joan and Carol. She is survived by her two brothers, George (Dini) and John (Karin); her husband, David; and her four children, David, Jr. (Marlyse), Derek (Kelly), Sean (Birgit), and Annamarie (Will). She was beloved Nana to Brandon, Nyssa, Drake, Declan, Barrett, and Rhys. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. 

Pat has requested no services be held and that her ashes be spread in her beloved Rocky Mountains.
