Obituary of Tyrel (Ty) Shaw

November 15, 1982 – Calgary, Alberta
February 17, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Tyrel (Ty) William Logan Shaw passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the age of 39 years. He was the loving father of Braeden, Keegan, Aurora, Caera and Arianna.

Ty attended Queen Elizabeth High School. He was a member of The Salvation Army Berkshire Citadel Community Church with his wife and children, where he spent many volunteer hours.

Ty loved fishing, so much so that he and wife Angela founded a small business that created handmade lures and other fishing supplies simply so he could fish more often. He played competitive paintball, loved reading and in his youth was obsessed with soccer. Ty and his brother Shaun would skip school to watch the World Cup over the years, both cheered for Argentina (because of their love for Diego Maradonna). Tyrel was interested in street graffiti art, comic books and all things Transformers. Ty's biggest achievements and happiest times were his marriage and becoming a parent. He found his place in this world with this responsibility and lived to provide for his family. He had many fond memories of his family trips across Canada to visit family in Ontario, Montreal, and the East Coast then later enjoyed his own road trips with his children but never as often as he would have liked.

He leaves behind Angela Shaw (nee Mckenzie), his spouse of eighteen years (recently separated) of Calgary, AB; two sons, Braeden (17) and Keegan (15) of Calgary, AB; daughters Caera and Aurora (13) and Arianna (8) of Calgary, AB; his eldest brother Shaun Shaw (Jennifer) and their children Makenna and Owen of Calgary, AB; youngest brother Nolan Shaw (Jennifer Wastle) and their children Brooklyn and Mason of Calgary, AB; parents, Mel and Sherry Shaw of Calgary, AB; as well as aunts and uncles, Jessie Shaw, Jill and Gary Cockerell, Claudette Shaw, and Randy and Suzanne Shaw; and numerous cousins and friends.

Ty was predeceased by aunts and uncles, Holly Duncan, Gus, Patricia, and Lance Shaw; and his grandparents, William and Janet Shaw, Clarence and Gwendolyn Duncan.

Tyrel will be most remembered for his love of family and his willingness to always be there for you, as well as his work ethic and his humility. Ty shouldered everything life threw at him, tirelessly and optimistically. He never dragged his feet in disdain. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
