Obituary of Marjorie Mary Dewar

February 18, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Marjorie Dewar (nee Fowler) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the age of 88 years.

 

Marjorie was born in Harley Township in Ontario, on April 9, 1933, and lived in the New Liskeard area until 1982, when she moved to North Bay, ON. In 1994 she then relocated to Calgary where she spent her remaining years. Marjorie married Orville Dewar in 1950.

 

Marjorie is survived by her daughters Linda and husband Jack Benoit of New Liskeard, ON and Norma Messenger of Calgary, AB, sons Lorne Dewar and wife Kathy of 100 Mile House, BC and Wayne Dewar and wife Lisa of Calgary, AB, as well as several grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Orville, and brothers Lawrence and Donald Fowler.

 

Marjorie will be most remembered for her sense of humour. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than gathering with family and friends. She was also very artistic, practicing hobbies such as leather tooling and oil painting.
