Marilyn Edgar, beloved wife and best friend of Ken Edgar of Calgary, AB, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the age of 77 years.

Born in Calgary on October 10, 1944, Marilyn was the only daughter of Mary Elizabeth Luxford and Edward Christopher Luxford. She lived in the Ramsay neighborhood all her life, attending Ramsay School and then graduating from Western Canada High School in 1962. Marilyn worked in administrative positions with Trimac Trucking and Burtek Security Systems.

Marilyn loved to travel with friends and also loved camping in her motorhome and many trailers she owned. She spent many years at Whispering Pines near Mara Lake; camping and boating at Scotch Creek on Shuswap Lake, and campouts with the Calgary General Recreational Club (at places such as Bieseker, Pine Coulee, Sundre etc.), with great cookouts. Marilyn was part of the Circle of Friends Group and when she wasn’t camping, she took part in a weekly league bowling.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Jolie Edgar (Tom Willis) of Airdrie and Danielle Edgar of Calgary; her cousins, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Ken Edgar, her dear aunt Ruby McKay, her mother Mary Elizabeth Luxford and her father Edward Christopher Luxford.

A Memorial Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
