Obituary of Rob Ball

January 2, 1972 - Calgary, Alberta

February 19, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Douglas Ball on Saturday, February 19, 2022, during a workplace incident outside of Drumheller, at the age of 50.

Rob was a hard worker; he was employed in the oil field and trucking industry for most of his career. Rob enjoyed working with his hands, the peacefulness that came from working outdoors. He was an avid animal lover, with a soft spot in his heart for his beloved pets Oliver, and Willow, as well as a recently rescued cat that had yet to be named.

Rob had a great love for his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Donna Ball, two brothers, Jammie Cook (Carol), and Dwayne Ball, who he had an exceptional bond with. Rob will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews that were special to him, Dwayne Jr, Christina, Nathen, Justin, Shilo, Jenifer, Kasey, and Grace; as well as great-nephews, Kai, and Nico.

Rob also cared deeply for his extended family, Sharon, Lynn (Marc), Emily (Don), and their families, Kyla, Davey (Stacey), Ayden, Chance, Jilleen (Bob), Dillen, and Justin; Sherry, Sandra, and many friends.

Robert was predeceased by his father Robert Ball Sr., and sister Jo-Anne Mauratt.

Robbie persevered through many challenges but believed “No matter what happens, no matter how far you seem to be away from where you want to be, never stop believing that you will somehow make it.” – Author, Brad Gast.

May you forever rest in peace, son, brother, uncle, friend.
