Obituary of Robert John Stephen Gray

Bob Gray, beloved husband of Dorothy Tibbits-Gray (nee Tibbits), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the age of 71 years.
Bob grew up in Montreal and moved to the Crowsnest Pass in Alberta in the mid 1970s’. He moved to Calgary in the late 1970s’. Bob married Dorothy in 1990 and became a stepdad, a role he shone in.
Bob was a lifelong member of the Unitarian Universalist community. He showed his awesome kindness by helping anyone he could. He held a BA in Music and a MA in English. Bob had a great passion for his music and playing bridge. He also loved driving and seeing new things.
Bob is survived by his wife Dorothy, sister Eileen (Simon) Santlal of Montreal, QC, three daughters, Joleen Kelnar (Jason Kirkman), Shawna Kelnar (Simon Drydyk), and Jana Collar (Brian Burger). Bob is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Maggie Franklin, and Shirley (Don) Eagle. Bob had multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren (we are a blended family), numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Sidney and Jane Gray, and his close friend Sherri Fujimagari who was like an extra sister to him.
Funeral Services will be held at Unitarian Church of Calgary (1703 – 1st Street N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
