Obituary of Karl Kapcala

February 23, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karl Kapcala of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the age of 78 years.

Affectionally known as “UNC”, he was a very special uncle, and will especially be missed by Robert & Cynthia Kapcala; Douglas Kapcala; Kara Kapcala & Markus Marr; Nancy Moffett; Wayne & Carmen Kapcala; Barry & Ginette Kapcala; Bev Kapcala; Baylie Mckay; and Bryce McKay. Karl is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. Karl will be dearly missed by The Duh Family and Joel Powell. Karl was predeceased by his parents John & Susanna Kapcala; his brothers Joseph, John, and Edward; and by his sister Margaret.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff of Unit 36 at the Foothills Medical Centre for their care of Karl during his final days.

At Karl’s request, a private service and internment will be held at the Queen’s Park Cemetery Mausoleum.

A Funeral Service will be held on, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Kapcala’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
