Obituary of Orrine Fullerton

November 28, 1932 - Belfast, Northern Ireland

February 22, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Orrine Fullerton of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

Orrine was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on November 28, 1932, to parents David and Elizabeth Porter. At age 14, Orrine worked in Gallagher’s Cigarette Factory. She also worked at a tobacco and confectioners store.  Orrine met Clifford “Cliff” Fullerton in Belfast and they were married June 26, 1957.  Orrine also worked at B Fullerton & Sons (family-owned company) until 1977 when she and Cliff immigrated to Calgary, Canada.  Orrine was a member of the International Ballroom Association and had a passion for ballroom dancing and along with Cliff they taught dance. She also loved to watch game shows, soccer and was a big Calgary Flames hockey fan. Orrine (with Cliff) had several trips over the years from cruises to a very special trip to Aruba and many trips back to Northern Ireland, but her most memorable vacation was when she was able to take her grandchildren to her hometown.

Orrine will be most remembered for her sweet disposition, exceeded only by her kindness and generosity. Orrine touched the lives of everyone she met; she was a truly beautiful soul. 

Orrine is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law Julie and Hugh of Calgary, AB; her two grandchildren, Shelby and Holden of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her brother George and sister-in-law Iris Porter, of Belfast Northern Ireland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Orrine was predeceased by her husband Clifford Fullerton; parents, David and Elizabeth; her brothers, Tommy and David; and her sisters, Lilly, Margaret, and Ann. 

As Orrine would always say, “Take care, good night, and God Bless.”
