Obituary of Stephen 'Steve' Irvine Reede

Stephen Irvine Reede, beloved husband of Maria Teresa Reede (nee Ortiz), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the age of 59 years.

Stephen was born in Long Beach, California, USA on December 29, 1962.

He moved to Nova Scotia, Canada with his parents when he was still a baby.

Stephen graduated from Spring Valley Secondary School in Kelowna, BC and thereafter took different courses to pursue his career in Seismic Exploration in Oil and Gas, and climbed himself up to his recent position as Seismic Recording Crew Manager.

Stephen married Maria Teresa in 2011. He was a member of the Canadian Olympic Association and got a Bronze Award as Young Olympians of Canada and Canada Fitness where he was awarded the Excellence Award.

Stephen accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his successes and achievements. He enjoyed playing football, soccer, skiing.

Stephen’s most memorable vacation was in Mexico with his mom.

He will be most remembered for his compassion for animals and generosity to people.

Besides his loving wife, Maria Teresa Reede, Stephen is survived by his 2 non-biological daughters who love him dearly as their own father – Nathalie and Thea, both currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and a son-in-law – Ray Mark living in the Philippines.

Stephen is also survived by his loving father Irvine Frederick Reede and loving mother Shirley Elizabeth Nicholson Reede both currently residing in Victoria, BC.

Stephen is also survived by his 2 sisters, nieces, nephew, as follows:

Miriam Alice Louise Reede Fitchett – eldest sister

Jeff Fitchett – Mirriam's husband

Lindzie Jae Mahnig – Miriam's daughter

All currently residing abroad

Angela Elizabeth Reede Fraser – youngest sister

Wayne Kerry Fraser – Angela's husband

Connor Wayne Robert Fraser – son of Angela and Wayne

Meghan Nicole Fraser – daughter of Angela and Wayne

All currently residing in Edmonton, AB, Ca.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
