Obituary of Geraldine Frances Christoffersen

Geraldine (Geri) Christoffersen (nee Hogg) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Geri was born in Craigmyle, AB on August 9, 1931, to parents Alex and Helen Hogg and she grew up in Endiang on the family farm.  Geri married Nels (Chris) Christoffersen on June 4,1953 and together, after arriving in Calgary, they started their own company, Christoffersen Drywall, where she was the bookkeeper for many years. 

Geri and Chris made many good, lifelong friends while pursuing their hobbies of golf, fishing, snowmobiling, and playing bridge, she played golf up until she was 75 years old, and she was a proud member of the Midsun Bridge club serving on the board of directors for many years.  Geri loved spending time with all her family and many memories were made at Lake Midnapore throughout the years. 

Geri will be remembered for her sense of humour, no one liked a good joke more than she did.

Geri is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Len Park and Debbie and Paul Hambling; four grandchildren, Tammy Holmes, Dennis (Cory) Hambling, Toni Williams, and Randy Hambling; seven great-grandchildren, Christian McKenzie, Caleb McKenzie, Dakota Myer, Ryder Williams, Charlie Hambling, Jersey Williams, and Cali Hambling, and her step granddaughter Lillian Park and her family. She was predeceased by her husband Chris in 1993.

A Celebration of Geri’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, March 7, 2022, starting at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
