March 3, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Tony Jones was predeceased by his wives, Gail Jones in 2006, and his second wife Sadie (Sherri) Jones in 2019. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gaynor Jones and John Brookwell, son David Jones, and grandchildren, Bryce Morgan Jones, Rhys Garrick Jones, Oceana Love Mellaart Jones, Jazzmyn Coral Mellaart Jones, Meryk Harley Mellaart Jones; brother Christopher Jones (Sheila), sister Leslie Jones, and many, many other family members. Also his loving companion Marg Wheeler.

Today our hearts are both shattered and filled with peace. Our rock, our guiding light, a man we loved and respected endlessly lost his battle with cancer. Our father, Tony Jones, passed quietly and peacefully very early Thursday morning.

A man so loved and well respected by family and friends for his loyalty, morals, convictions, common sense, wicked sense of British warped humor, love of pets, history, and reading. His love of family and friends knew no bounds, he was always there when needed and loved deeply. He was a beloved member in the community where he lived and enjoyed being an active part of their social club.

My dad was one of the smartest men I knew and was lucky enough to both love and be loved by three wonderful women in his life. He had many adventures in the Merchant Marines and was brave enough to move his family to Canada for a better future and new opportunities many years ago. He had a long and varied career in Oil and Gas and had the respect and friendship of his peers.

He had children, grandchildren, friends, family, and his little companion Cutiepie. With all the love he gave and received he had a blessed, rewarding and happy life. My dad gave me the ultimate gift for a love of reading which I will always treasure as it has become a passion in my life.

What had started out as "Pneumonia" late last year unfortunately turned out to be Prostate Cancer, which ravaged my father. Even though my dad outwardly was literally a shell of the man he had been physically, his heart, soul, love and spirituality showed through to the very end.

To all of you who knew Tony you know the kind of man he was and for those who didn't I wish you could have had the pleasure of meeting him.

We love you Daddy now and forever. It warms our hearts to know you are finally with Mom again. Thank you for being a wonderful Father and Grandfather and the only father figure my sons knew growing up. Everything they are is because of you.

Cancer had no mercy for my Dad. Please make sure you and your loved ones look after yourselves and each other.

Take care everyone, never be afraid to say I love you to those that matter to you, live, laugh and love for none of us know how long we have the ability to do so.

If you would like to make a donation in Tony's name his wishes were for them to go to your choice of either the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
