Obituary of Marty Hannah Carey

Marty Carey (nee Brown), beloved wife of Stephen Carey, of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the age of 62 years.

Marty was born in Calgary Alberta in the General Hospital and moved to Vancouver in 1962, in 1970 she left for England and lived in London England until 2007 before returning to Calgary.

She was educated at Riverside School in England and completed basic training with the British Army. Marty married the love of her life Stephen Carey on August 27th, 1982.

She travelled extensively but most of all enjoyed her relaxing holidays in Spain with her family. She also loved ice skating, swimming and her basset hounds.

She will be most remembered for her strong character and willingness to help others. As demonstrated with her work at the Airdrie Registry and donating to the Legion.

Besides her loving husband, Marty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Matt, and Sam and Jon; and her grandchildren, Lewis, Libby, Sophie, Jack and Eric, all from Airdrie . Marty is also survived by her brothers Ben and Bill from London England and sister Shelley from Airdrie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marty was predeceased by her mother Rachel and father Albert William Brown.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Airdrie, 300 Towerlane Drive) on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
