Obituary of Si Della Costa

Si Della Costa, beloved husband of the late Elsie Della Costa (nee Papp), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the age of 99 years.

Si was born in Italy in 1922 and immigrated to Canada in 1929. After his school years, he worked in mining for a few years, then spent the remainder of his working years in construction. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. He loved watching all sports and was a big fan of the Flames, Stampeders, and Blue Jays. He was an avid bowler and had a lifelong passion for horse racing.  Si will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His infectious smile will live on forever.

Si is survived by daughters, Sandra Wing (Scott) of Canmore, AB, Debbie Snow (Byron) of Calgary, AB, and Dawn Della Costa of Calgary, AB; son, Darcy Della Costa (Shelley) of Beaumont, AB; grandchildren, Jessica Wing, Michael Wing, Morgan Snow, and Benjamin Snow. Besides his loving wife, Elsie, Si was predeceased by his mother Maria, father Albino; brothers, Primo, and Elieo; and sister Marcella Bertagnolli.
