Obituary of Lynn Carol Wharton

Lynn Wharton, beloved wife of Ronald Wharton of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the age of 74 years.

Lynn was born in Winnipeg, MB, on April 9, 1947, to parents Pat and Violet Dillon. She moved to Calgary, AB, in 1983. In 1969, Lynn married Ronald Wharton and welcomed their son, Christopher, seven years later. Lynn put her sparkling personality to work in Sales and Merchandising with companies like J&J, Duracell, and Sara Marketing.

She had a passion for helping others; she loved volunteering with the Calgary Food Bank, the Girl Guides, St. Andrew's Church, and as team manager of Chris’ minor hockey teams. Lynn enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, talking on the phone with friends, and spending summers with family in Winnipeg Beach, MB. Lynn will be most remembered for her infectious smile and generous fun-loving nature.

Besides her loving husband Ron, Lynn is survived by her son Chris Wharton (Jyoti Grewal), of Calgary, AB.; four grandchildren, Shubh, Owen, Aidan, and Sunjum; her beloved dog, Buddy; two sisters, Jackie (Steve) Pascal of Calgary, AB, and Wendy (Laurie) Firth of Sydney, Australia. Lynn was predeceased by her parents Pat and Violet Dillon.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB), Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10:00 am. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Lynn’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may also be shared and viewed there.
