Kenneth Chase

Obituary of Kenneth Dudley Chase

August 5, 1943 - Murray, Utah

March 12, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Kenneth (Ken) Chase, beloved husband of Tarne Chase (nee Flynn), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the age of 78 years.

Ken was born in Murray, Utah, USA, on August 5, 1943.

He moved to Vancouver, BC in the 60’s and from there the family moved to Hamilton, ON. Ken married Tarne in 1984 and they settled in Calgary, AB in 1994.

Ken was a lover of all sports and had a passion for NASCAR.  Tarne took him to his first NASCAR race in Texas in 2013 and he never looked back enjoying several races thereafter.  Ken also owned a 1979 Corvette which he spent many hours working on – it was often joked that Ken loved his Corvette more than his wife.

Ken’s most memorable vacation was a River Cruise through Germany, France and Switzerland.  His home away from home was the Mayan Riviera where he and Tarne would go every year for eighteen years.

He will be most remembered for his compassion, understanding and words of wisdom.

Besides his loving wife Tarne Chase, Ken is survived by his four children, Wyanne of Kamloops, BC, Robert (Cherie) of Vancouver, BC, Braylin (Amber) of Calgary, AB, and Samantha of Calgary, AB; and two grandchildren, Ethan and Calen of Vancouver, BC.  Ken is also survived by his sister Pamela of Murray, Utah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Jean; and his sisters, Carol and Sandi.

A Celebration of Life will follow with details to be shared shortly.  Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here. If friends and family so wish, donations can be made to the Foothills Country Hospice Society in Ken’s name.

The family would like to thank the staff, especially Candice, for their kindness and compassion during his short stay.

To quote his favourite Band “I’ll be waiting for you on the dark side of the Moon”
