Obituary of Carole Pearl Campagne

October 29, 1940 - Herbert, Saskatchewan

March 17, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Carole Campagne, beloved wife of George Campagne, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the age of 81 years.

Carole was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan on October 29, 1940, the youngest of six children, she is lovingly remembered by her sons, George (Brett) and Darren (Sonie), daughter Jaye, and step-grand daughters, Sasha and Daria. Carole is survived by two sisters, Evelyn and June. She was predeceased by her husband George of forty-one years, her parents, Nora and Robert, sister Florence, and brothers Robert and Ronald. 

Carole often spoke of her time on the farm and in the end, she longed to return there. She was one of the kindest people one could ever meet, she had a quiet strength about her. She always did what had to be done, no complaints. One only has to remember her hauling the kids and dog (Bunker) back and forth from Calgary to the Middle East numerous times and driving the Winnebago throughout the Prairies over many summers. She took care of us, all of us, always…even Dad fondly referred to her as the “Captain”. She was Dad’s captain in the last few years of his life, and he thanked her everyday for that before bedtime. She had a knack for the outdoors, not the wilderness, but the gardening, upkeep, etc. Her drink of choice was coffee, black, always black.

The family extends their gratitude for the kind and compassionate care provided by the staff at Evanston Grand Village and the Peter Lougheed over the last few years. As per Carole’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial, just the scattering of her ashes on the farm at some point in the future. May you finally Rest In Peace Carole, with an “e”. You deserve it. You made us all so proud. You were an inspiration to all.
