Obituary of Adam Mason-Robertson

September 4, 2003 – Trail, British Columbia

March 16, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Adam Elliott Mason-Robertson announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the age of 18 years. The strength and courage Adam displayed in fighting depression inspired all who knew him. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed.

Adam was born in Trail, British Columbia on September 4, 2003. He started his life in Rossland, BC and moved to Calgary in 2007. He attended Westmount Charter School from Grade 1 until his graduation in 2021.

Adam was a uniquely gentle and beautiful soul who felt things deeply. He was a goofy, handsome, sweet natured, young man who brought so much joy to so many around him. This was evidenced in his close-knit group of friends made in elementary school that lasted his lifetime. He loved his girlfriend Ness and spent many happy moments of late spending time listening to music and confiding in her.  He loved animals – in particular his cat Hank. He was a voracious reader from an early age and liked puzzles, games, and Japanese manga.

Adam loved cheering on his favourite sports teams including the LA Lakers and Tampa Bay Lightning. He liked shooting hoops with his buddies and had planned to attend the University of Calgary this coming Fall to pursue Computer Science. The world has lost a bright light. 

Adam leaves behind his mother Sara Robertson and her partner Darren Johannson, father David Mason, brothers Isaac Mason and Jonas Mason-Robertson, step-siblings Bryn, Liv and Eva Johannson; grandparents Marilyn Milligan, Joan Mason and Larry Elford, Jim Robertson and Barb Fedderson; aunts and uncles Marcy Robertson, Scott Robertson, Kathy and Chris McKellar, Fieran Mason-Blakley and Jennifer Coles, Adam Travis and Shelly Spence; cousins Charlie and Jordan Harris, Gwyneth Butchart, Ian and William McKellar, Kai and Cameron Blakley. Adam will also be dearly missed by numerous great-aunts and great-uncles and countless friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Neil Mason.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
