Condolences
Our sincere condolences to Gordon, your family and to Mary Jane. Don was our neighbour and friend at
Horizon Village during the past ten years. We very much admired Don’s independence and spunk and
enjoyed stories of his life experiences and travels. We looked forward to reading his unique letters
to ‘the editors’ and agreed with his opinions - He was usually spot on, politically.
Always a gentleman, Don will be missed. Paul & Margaret Nazarchuk
Dear Gord,
Such a big chapter closing for you and it deserves so much more than words. Nevertheless Marc and I send our condolences to you and Cheryl and Don's grandchildren Reid, Lauren and Scott. Thank you for all you did in these last years and are still doing to honour the core values of your father's life among us. No one can ever take his place in the world or in your lives. It will belong always and only to him. Every life unique and every life worth everything--may he rest now in the mystery of all our beginnings and all our endings, where sacred promises are kept. We love you and will give you a bug hug when we see you next.
With you,
Diane & Marc, Westport Ontario.
Hey Gord, I am thinking today about how far back our shared stories go as families and friends just doing life. And, how many times the tracks of our lives have brought us together and kept us in touch. Once again, this time on a sad note, Peg and I want you and Cheryl to know we share in the real sense of loss with your Dad's passing. He really was a very special person to the whole Chapman clan, and will be sorely missed.
The brilliance of the tales he could tell of his international experiences, his love of travel, how he could quickly and thoroughly engage an audience, and his love, interest and appreciation of people - regardless of their societal status or life skills - all these and more were hallmarks of who your Dad was. He was and will always be remembered by us as a fine man who made a positive difference in the lives of all who knew him.
Doug and Peg Chapman
