Obituary of Dolores Marie Baldick

August 29, 1927 – Drummondville, Quebec

March 27, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Dolores Marie Baldick of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the age of 94 years.

She was born in Drummondville, Quebec and at the age of 5 returned to Spain with her family. Not long after their return to Spain the Spanish Civil war broke out and to keep the children safe Dolores and her two siblings were sent back to Canada to be cared for by family. The second world war changed all plans and they remained in England separated from their parents.

Dolores spent her years in London until the age of 18 when she came to Canada and joined her sister in Calgary. This is where she met her husband Roy and together, they lived in NW Calgary and raised their two sons, Stephen, and Gregory.

Dolores was a dedicated wife, mother and committed to her family above all else. She was fun loving, kind and always considerate of others.  She had many talents and interests including painting, music (singing), sewing and knitting and was a very proud homemaker.

Throughout all the years she spent in Calgary her greatest pleasures were spending time and holidays with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

Roy and Dolores put their abundant talents to work and by hand, built the family summer cabin in Sicamous, BC where family and friends have enjoyed magical summer days for almost five decades now.

Even with her progressing dementia her warm and fun-loving personality was always apparent.

Dolores is survived by her loving son Stephen, daughter in-law Karon Baldick; her grandchildren Amy (Tim) Montgomery and Adam (Rheanne) Baldick; great-grandchildren Ryder and Sienna; and god daughter, Jane Shapley. As a devoted spouse and mother, she was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2016 and son Gregory in 2015.

She was loved and cared for by all of the wonderful staff at Bow View Manor (Brenda Stafford Foundation) to whom we will be eternally grateful to.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here. If family or friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.

In living memory of Dolores Baldick, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
