Condolences
Susie, Karen and family, my condolences on your loss.
To the O’Neill family:
I recently read of your father’s passing and wanted to offer sincere condolences to the family. Your dad was a good friend of my later father Laurie Tarves and they worked together for many years with the CPS. Jack would call my dad on a regular basis and they had numerous conversations about family, friends and sports. He was a true friend to many and made numerous meaningful contributions to the community of Calgary.

Karen, Susie and family,
Les and I and the Cartwright family are so sorry about losing Jack.
I have so many vivid memories of him. l spent so much time at your home growing up and he always treated me like one of the family. I picture him sitting in his chair telling stories (he had so may stories!) and then his nostril would twitch and he would break into a smile. If he was away or out he would phone your home to check in and even if I was the one that answered the phone he would go through the list: Are all the curling irons off? Cigarettes are out? Door is locked?...We laughed and rolled our eyes but appreciated that he was always there.
He was so proud of his family and l know his being gone leaves a huge hole in your lives. In time I hope you can fill that hole with warm memories and when you think of him, maybe your nose will twitch and you will break into a smile.
Lots of love.
Ali and Les
We are so very saddened by Jack's passing. He was such a wonderful gentleman. He always told his stories with a twinkle in his eye and he had such a wonderful life. Thank you Karen and Susie and family for inviting us to so many get-togethers where we got to know your Dad. It was a real gift to us here in Glamorgan and within the AMA family, because we always felt 'at home' and welcomed by him and you all! The sadness is there, but the joy Jack brought to us all brings so many smiles and wonderful memories! He felt like family and will always be firmly in our hearts! Love Jill, Serge, Daniel, Rochelle and 'Do-do (Doris Crisp) xxxx

We're so sorry to hear of Jack's passing, and send our deepest condolences to his entire family. Jack was a wonderful man, and gave so much of himself to others.
I'm very fortunate to have been introduced to him through my work for AMA School Safety Patrol. As one of Calgary's original patrollers, he always had many wonderful memories and photos to share of his time in patrols. He aspired to be a police officer as a young patroller, when he was influenced by a Sgt. in the Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit who would always come to their school. Jack did become a police officer for CPS when he grew up, and after hard work as a constable for years, was later promoted to a Sgt. He came full circle in his childhood goals when he was put in charge of the patrol program and their activities. In that time he helped so many students learn about the program, trained them in traffic safety, and organized many events, outings, and special prizes for the patrol students. We owe him a great debt for all the time, effort and enthusiasm he put into helping to build the program. This included having a regular spot on the Buckshot show, which featured the patrollers and the Safety Roundup Band.
Jack, we will never ever forget you or your many contributions to making this world a better place. I will always remember you with that lively sparkle in your beautiful blue eyes as you took me down memory lane to the many places and people you loved. Everything you did for others has ensured you a special place in Heaven. May you rest now in gentle loving peace with those who went before you, awaiting your arrival Home. Love you forever.

To the O'Neill family, my sincere condolences on the passing of your Dad. I have great memories of John (Jack) from his days on the CPS, his days with the Flames and at Heritage Park. When I worked in 2 District I would stop in for a coffee. Take care. Bob Whitfield
