Jal was born on January 11, 2006, passing away on March 31, 2022. Jal was a very respectful young man who never argued with his mom or grandma. He always asked to go out and let them know where he was. Jal always helped his family in any way he could. Jal had an impact on every person he met. And we all cherish the person he was to us in our lives. Jal was on the Jr. High School football team and the Jr. basketball team at St. Francis. All his teammates would describe him as the smile that lit up the room, the guy who always brought joy to the team. He was very athletic and was one of the best players on the team.

Jal had recently talked to his family and coaches about pursuing basketball, wanting to go to the USA to play. He had the determination to do it and was definitely tall enough! He was a student-athlete, always doing good in school and going to his classes. Jal took on every day with a smile and ended it with a smile.

The journey without Jal is going to be very hard for everyone here. But we need to push through it for Jal and his family. Keep fighting for Jal and his legacy.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery, with a Reception to follow the Graveside. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
