Obituary of Gilbert (Gil) William Svendsen

July 8, 1926 - Biggar, Saskatchewan

April 3, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gilbert William Svendsen, beloved husband of Else Svendsen, of Calgary, AB, on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the age of 95 years.

Born in Biggar, SK on July 8, 1926, and raised in Saskatoon, SK. After service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Gil came to Calgary where he met his wife of 65 years, Else Svendsen. He worked for decades in Oil and Gas accounting in Calgary.

Gil is survived by his wife, Else; and sons, Mark and Stephen (Caroline) of Calgary. He was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church (Danish Lutheran Church), Christ Lutheran and finally Lutheran Church of the Cross.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Chinook Care Centre for their kindness and love expressed to Gil these past years.
