Obituary of Vera June Reinhart

Vera Reinhart, beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Reinhart of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Vera was born Winchester, England, on June 3, 1931. She immigrated to Canada and moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1948, where she met her husband, Bill. Vera married Bill in 1951. She was a valued member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Vera accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of living through having six bouncing baby boys. Vera loved Sunday family dinners. She enjoyed reading the Calgary Herald every day, solving crossword puzzles, knitting, and watching games shows, soap operas, and hockey. Vera also enjoyed curling in her younger years. Vera’s most memorable vacation was the Alaskan Cruise she took with her husband. She will be most remembered for being a loving mother, and grandmother.

Vera is survived by her six sons and four daughters-in-law, Cliff and Marg Reinhart (Chestermere), Peter Reinhart (Calgary), Darryl Reinhart and Sue Thompson (Calgary), Richard Reinhart (Toronto), John and Pam Reinhart (Calgary), and Greg and Cathy Reinhart (Calgary); fourteen grandchildren, David and Dawn Reinhart, Alicia Reinhart, Paul Reinhart, Robert and Beth Reinhart, Daniel Reinhart and Ashley Challner, Nicole and Alex Garden, Steven and Kayla Reinhart, Jessica and James Walton, Christina and Nathen Perry, Sandra Reinhart, Cassandra Reinhart, Melissa and Shane Fast, Josh and Stephanie Reinhart, and Samantha and Phil Hamilton; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, Bill Reinhart, Vera was predeceased by her mother, Christina Hurkett, and father, Thomas Hurkett.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway Heritage (1708 16 Avenue Northwest, Calgary, AB), on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so prior to the Funeral Service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
