Loty Flores Alvarado of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

Loty was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on November 20, 1936.

 

Loty nació en la Ciudad de Guatemala el 20 de Noviembre de 1936

 

She loved travelling and her most memorable vacation was when she went to St. Petersburg, Russia at the age of 82 and the three times she visited the Vatican in Rome, Italy

 

A Loty le gustaba viajar en cruceros y sus vacaciones mas memorables fueron las del Este de Europa en el que visito junto a su hija San Petesburgo, Rusia a la edad de 82 y las tres veces que visitaron el Vaticano en Roma Italia.

 

 

This poem was dedicated to Loty from her Grandaughter Andrea:

“There is no night without a dawning

No winter without a spring

And beyond the dark horizon

Our hearts will once more sing…

For those who leave us for a while

Have only gone away

Out of a restless, care worn world

Into a brighter day.”

Este Poema fue dedicado a Loty por su nieta Andrea:

“No hay noche sin amanecer

No hay invierno sin primavera

Y más allá del horizonte oscuro

Nuestros corazones volverán a cantar...

Para los que nos dejan por un tiempo

solo se han ido

De un mundo inquieto y desgastado

A un día más brillante.”

 

Loty is survived by her daughter Irasema, of Calgary, AB; son Erick David (Diana) of Guatemala City, Guatemala; three grandchildren, Andrea, Estefania, and Pamela; and great-grandchild Leticia Electra
