Obituary of Brian John Poole

January 21, 1938 – Romford, England

April 9, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Brian Poole, beloved husband of Christine Poole (nee Meaker), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the age of 84 years.

Brian was born in Romford, England on January 21, 1938. In England, he worked at Hurn Airport, Bournemouth, and as a stock auditor for Max Factor. Brian married Christine in 1971, together they immigrated to Canada in 1972, coming directly to Calgary, AB, Brian worked at Currie Barracks as a civilian employee. He volunteered with the City of Calgary, as a golf course marshal, and played golf at various courses, his favourite being the Maple Ridge course in Calgary. Brian accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his three hole-in-ones! Brian enjoyed golf, fishing, camping, and making birdhouses. He also had a lifelong passion for tropical fish.

Besides his loving wife Christine, Brian is survived by his two sons, Simon (Andrea) of Calgary, AB, and Ricky (Tina) of England; five grandchildren, William, Edmund, Rupert, Sarah, and Rhiannen; and two great-grandchildren, Storm, and Phoebe.

Brian is also survived by his one brother Raymond, and one sister Joyce, both of England, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, Tracy, David, Amanda, Nigel, Adrian, Linda, Mark, and Debbie, and their families.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, William and Lillian Poole; and two brothers, Dennis and Sid.

A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Seton Chapel (530 Seton Passage SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, April 18 at 12:00 p.m.
