Antonio Petrillo

Obituary of Antonio Petrillo

November 11, 1932 - Morcone, Benevento, Italy

April 10, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Antonio Petrillo, beloved husband of Giuseppina Petrillo (nee Vecchio), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

Antonio was born in Morcone, Benevento, Italy, on November 11, 1932. When he lived in Italy, he worked hard on the farm, always helping his family. True to his nature of being a hardworking family man, Antonio worked temporarily in Venezuela and Australia when he was young to provide a better life for his family back home. In 1970, Antonio immigrated to Calgary, AB, Canada, where he proudly worked as a glazier for many years.

Antonio and Giuseppina have shared over 60 wonderful years together building their loving family and creating an unbreakable bond with their children. Antonio ensured he kept traditions from his homeland by making homemade wine and tomato sauce. He had a passion for gardening, small game hunting, and playing Italian card games. He was always ready for an adventure! After early retirement, Antonio kept busy around the house as the family handyman and taking care of his cherished granddaughters.

Antonio accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his family, and the time he got to spend with each of them. Always ready to help anyone in any way he could, Antonio was forever putting others’ needs before his own. Truly a humble, kind, and mild-mannered family man, he was the one you could always rely on. His strong, caring, and gentle presence will be greatly missed; may he rest in peace.

Besides his loving wife Giuseppina, Antonio is survived by his daughter Sandra, son Saverio (Luisa), and two granddaughters, Josephine (Lucas), and Elizabeth.
