Obituary of Jim Kaczmar

Jim Kaczmar of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the age of 88 years.
A loving husband, father, and proud grandfather, Jim was born in Brandon, MB, on July 19, 1933. He and Margaret (nee Munro) were married on June 16, 1962. They accepted a transfer to Calgary in 1965, where they made their home, careers and raised two children. Jim’s Manitoba memories and friendships endured all of his days. “Poppa” delighted in family events and updates from the grandsons. “Kaz” valued new friendships and fun, trading stories or jokes with clients and email buddies. Jim enjoyed cheering on the NY Yankees, walking Fish Creek Park, and was a lifelong foodie.
Jim is survived by his wife Margaret, son Duane, daughter Heather (Corey) Wirun, two grandsons, Rhys, and Eric; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Stephen, mother Phyllis, and brother Alex in 2016.
