Obituary of Dave Christie
October 3, 1950 - April 23, 2022
Unfortunately, we lost a great friend on April 23, 2022.
David D. (Dave) Christie passed away in Calgary, AB from a long-term illness. Dave handled his illnesses with boldness and dignity. He leaves behind his brother Bruce and sister Pam. He also leaves behind many broken-hearted long time old friends. Dave’s current list of friends go all the way back to his grade one class. Dave cared and helped friends and men who needed help. He was a man who was always well turned out, fifteen minutes early to any appointment and had a gift for listening to others. An example to us all. Dave was an ardent sports fan and was always current with public affairs as such he was always interesting, yet he was a very private man.
Dave was born and grew up in Montreal, QC, he attended Lindsay Place High School in Pointe Claire, leaving in 1975 to search for his dream in the west, where he settled in Calgary AB. Professionally, he was with Manulife Financial broker for almost 35 years. While in that industry he gained many new clients who also became friends. He guided many people through their financial affairs and some very private ordeals. Dave was also a proud member of the Stirling Calgary Men’s Team.
Many of us have great memories of our friendship with Dave. He will be remembered with fondness by many. Goodbye my friend. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
In living memory of Dave Christie, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
