Obituary of Donna Lue McConnell (nee Anderson)

July 5, 1930 - April 26, 2022

It is with heavy and saddened hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the age of 91 years. She will be fondly remembered for always saying that she lived a wonderful life and would never change a thing.

Donna was born on July 5, 1930 in Carstairs, AB to Herman and Marjorie Anderson. She moved with her family from the farm to Calgary in her teen years and eventually went to work for Zellers. Donna soon met her husband Marvin McConnell, and they were married in 1955. She retired to raise their son Wendell and enjoy time with her family, who were her world. She is survived by her husband Marvin, son Wendell (Nancy), grandson Travis (Tiffany), and her sister Doreen Barkley.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 2:30 p.m., with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Donna’s service streamed live on the day of the service at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
