Obituary of Jean Pearson

Jean Pearson, beloved wife of Alfred Pearson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

Jean was born and raised in Calgary and was a long-time resident of Bowness. She worked for many years at Safeway, becoming a fixture at the Bowness location. Jean and Alfred were married on June 21, 1952. Jean enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, bingo, bowling, and she also loved travelling with her family, especially going on cruises. Most of all, her family was most important to Jean. She always looked forward to hosting family Christmases and Sunday dinners.

Besides her loving husband Alfred, Jean is survived by her children, Brenda Smith, Jim (Brenda) Pearson, Dan (Karen) Pearson, and Gerry (Bonnie) Pearson; grandchildren, Shea Smith, Lindsay Pearson (Zane Chmelyk), Derek Pearson, Sheena Smith, Lori (Marko) Ceko, Nicole Pearson, Chantel (Travis) Vlantes, and Janna Pearson; great-grandchildren, Georgia Pearson, Liliana Pearson, and Easton Vlantes; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Anne & Thomas Gardiner; and grandson Jesse Pearson.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
