Obituary of Susan Lynn Befus

September 30, 1954 - May 3, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Susan, age 67, from leukemia, while at home in Calgary on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Susan was dedicated to her job as a Dietary Technologist from 1976 at the Calgary General Hospital and the Peter Lougheed Centre for 35 years. Co-workers and friends have fond memories of her quick-witted sense of humour and kindness. Her enthusiasm livened up many gatherings. Sue passionately loved her dogs (having four at one point!) and never hesitated to help with dog-sitting. She was a phenomenal baker and was well known for her pecan shortbread at Christmas and homemade pies with the most tender crust. Gardening was a favourite hobby and Sue took great pride in the gorgeous lilies she grew. She liked fast cars and in recent years enjoyed joy rides in her little sports car with her co-pilot Maxie.

Sue is survived by her sister Patricia Befus and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Joy Edythe and Albert William Befus.

Rest well…. you are dearly missed by all, and especially Maxie.
