Obituary of Árpád Tiberiu Papp

Arpad Papp, beloved husband of Eva Papp (nee Balog) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the age of 75.

 

Árpád was born in Szatmárnémeti, Romania on May 17 1946. Árpád married Éva in 1969, his son was born a year later in 1970. He immigrated to Canada in 1980. He was a member of the Boilermaker’s union Árpád accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his acreage. He loved to cook, to hunt, to beekeep and he loved nature and animals Árpád was proud of his heritage and had a passion for all things Hungarian. He will be most remembered for his good nature and his humor.

 

Besides his loving wife Eva, Árpád is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Árpád and Jasmine in Calgary, AB. Árpád is also survived by his brother, János Papp, of Penticton, BC; his three sisters, Piroska Kovács, Irénke Crisan, and Ibolya Moldován of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Árpád was predeceased by his parents, Piroska Fazekas and József Papp, and by his brothers, Zoltán Papp, József Papp and Laci Papp.

 

Funeral Services will be held at Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Church (101 – 14th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:00 am. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Reception to follow. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
