Obituary of Pauline Chow

July 12, 1935 – Toishan, China

May 6, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Pauline Chow (Bo Kip Wong), the morning of Friday, May 6, 2022, at the age of 86 years. She was born July 12, 1935, in Toishan, China, and moved to join her late father, Jai Wong, in Calgary. Pauline worked hard in life to raise and support her family, working various jobs and retiring from The Palliser Hotel in 1995.

Pauline was always fascinated and enthralled by babies. She was able to quickly connect with others through laughter and her generous nature. Pauline never took to camping as it reminded her of her hard life in China. She is fondly remembered for her love of Cheetos Puffs, apple pie, wearing hats, and her many layers of clothing.

Pauline is survived by her loving children, Eileen Young (Richard), Kathy Havens (Jamie), Frank Tse, and Ann Chow; as well as grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Jessica, Ben, Becca (Braeden), and Kaitlin. She was predeceased by her husband, Hong Chow, in 1992.

The family is truly grateful to her neighbors Mr. And Mrs. Lee, Dini and Stan Overwater, Colleen and Ian Champion, Greg Rimmer, and Patty Wildey for their assistance and care over the years. They would like to extend deep appreciation to the staff at the Sheldon Chumir Hemodialysis Clinic, Dr. Nairn Scott-Douglas, and Dr. Shola Apantaku for their personalized care and heartfelt kindness to Pauline over the years.  In addition, sincere thanks to Rockyview General Hospital emergency staff and Unit 47 for their kind and compassionate care during her time with them.
