Obituary of Alyse Lucille McLeod

Alyse McLeod of Calgary, AB passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the age of 74 years.
An infinite source of practical wisdom and ideas, creative and insightful Alyse raised her children to love Christ and follow the power of their soul. She married David, the love of her life, and together set out on a spiritual quest to live the good life. As a helper and a teacher, she would fill every role from catechism to Metis Local 87 President, and she did so with aplomb, as she would say, “It’s easy because I put my faith in Christ.” As an artist, her music and art always had the same theme, to help others, whether by inspiration, or by insight of social issues. Alyse’s spiritual development and acceptance of Christianity was the source of her strength. Although Alyse’s passing has left our family bereft of her presence, it also left a rich example of the intimate relationship that one can have with God. One of her favorite quotes: “If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own, Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world- therefore the world hates you. - John 15:18"
