I worked with Ken from 2011 until his recent untimely death. He was a man of great integrity with a dead pan sense of humour. Based in London I didn’t interact with him on a day-to-day basis but on one of our visits to Nigeria he was great fun to be with. He always spoke common sense and was scrupulous with all things technical.

I will always have an image of him on our recent company Zoom calls with him sitting in what appeared to be a gaming chair with high wings. His cat would occasionally leap up onto his lap if only briefly and for a few seconds he could have been a dastardly Bond villain with a mission to destroy the world. I will miss him.

I had the pleasure to meet Ken early in 2021 after COPL agreed to acquire Southwestern Production Corp in Denver and its Wyoming oil & gas assets. Though I never met Ken in person, I felt like I knew him for years. I admired his common sense approach and his mild mannered attitude towards all work related tasks. I learned a lot from Ken in the short time that I knew him. I will miss his sense of humor and his kindness. He will truly be missed by all of his coworkers. He made a lasting impact on this new and growing company and for that we will always be grateful.

Good reservoir management is a fine balance of art and science combined with the ability to articulate the "plan" to others; Ken was a master at this combination. Often considered a "bubble buster" or "voice of reason" (his preference), Ken applied his abilities in a way to make all Professional Engineers proud. The Profession is diminished by his passing and he will be missed.

Ken had the most remarkable sense of dry humor. I will miss him as he has been a close confidante of mine for the last 18 years. Ken has gone to a much better place and will be looking down upon us with a smile.

I first met Ken in 2005 when he joined us at Oilexco as we became the most active driller of exploratory and appraisal wells in the offhshore United Kingdom Continental Shelf between 2004 and 2008. I think Ken nearly got whiplash, at first, as he realized how fast decisions were made and new wells drilled. Ken caught on and became our "voice of reason." By the way, Ken gave himself that nickname. Many of us called him "dark cloud," instead. But he smiled at (nearly) everything we called him.

More recently, Ken worked with us on a very intriguing secondary recovery oil field in Wyoming that we, frankly, got involved in due to Ken's enthusiasm towards it. That enthusiasm is going to translate in COPL America Inc. naming the Barron Flats Unit gas plant after him - so it's easy to remember that enthusiasm he proudly displayed to us. His sudden departure from us last week left a hole in our hearts. The only consolation is imagining the great reunion Ken had with his lovely wife, Linda, who was waiting for him in the light as he walked up towards her -- hearing her voice beckon him like a Greek siren! I shall never forget Ken.
