With sadness the family of George Myron Mosimann announces his passing on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the age of 95 years.

George was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Marion, just five weeks before his own passing. George is survived by his daughter Jan, his son Jim (Anne), his grandchildren, Chris, and Sarah; brother Herb, and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was born on January 29, 1927, in Cardston AB. His family moved around before settling in Glenwood, AB. George grew up on a farm and embraced country life. He moved to the Calgary area in the late 1940’s. While his brother Walt drove their mother to Calgary, George moved her belongings to Calgary using a horse and wagon.

George drove lumber truck for over 40 years. He retired in 1989. George led a very active life after retiring. George and Marion joined Confederation Park Seniors’ Community. They participated in ballroom, square dancing, and floor curling. George took up wood carving. George and Marion enjoyed many summer vacations while their children grew up. After that, their adventures took them to New Zealand and Fiji. Their travels took them to the Yukon, NW Territories, the Maritimes, and several States.

George’s pride and joy was found in his grandchildren. He could be seen rolling around the floor when they were small, going to soccer games, plays and dance recitals. George’s smile, good humor and laughter will be missed.
